Consulting
Over my 20 year career in the software and IT industry, whether a project succeeds or fails has far more to do with the intersections between people, process, measurement, leadership, and organizational culture than it does with the quality of the technology or its configuration. Modern software is built through incremental improvements so that product owners can learn what works. In most cases, organizations that can learn to roll out software in the same way could also benefit from this cycle of learning, they just need consultants willing to think and work differently. And this is exactly where I believe I can be of service.
While I am still landing on the exact right model for my business, these are the sorts of projects I'd love to discuss to see if I can help you:
- Customer service or enterprise service management, especially in contexts where pure efficiency is not the main goal
- Customer relationship management (CRM), church management (ChMS), and other projects related to connecting with people
- Defining key performance indicators and setting up analytics dashboards, data flows, and other light data architecture tasks
- Creating teaming agreements and organizational culture around how to use your organization's productivity suite
- Designing hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes, especially when there's no budget for new software
- Project management or architecture oversight on larger software projects where a third-party implementation firm has been contracted for the build work
Because of the bredth of my experience, I am a fast study on any cloud software. That said, I do have extensive experience with the following:
- Salesforce Core Platform
- FreshService ITSM
- Google Workplace (non-profit edition)
- JIRA and Confluence
- Quickbooks Online
